Wheelchair Sports for Kids (WSK – the Association) is a volunteer (mainly parent and carer) run association that welcomes children with physical disabilities and their families, and involves them in the world of sport through active participation.
The association offers activities that promote inclusiveness, physical challenge, fun, and confidence building through sports and recreational activities via the use of a manual wheelchair. WSK owns several manual sports wheelchairs so kids can transfer from their regular chair into a sports chair for the sessions without having to purchase their own sports wheelchairs. Of course, you can BYO sports chair or use your regular manual chair if that is more comfortable.
Wheelchair Sports for Kids offers a supervised environment with coaches who have experience in creating sporting activities and programs that improve participant fitness and achievement levels. The Association encourages participation in a variety of sporting activities by establishing strong community links and partnerships, as well as providing a strong social and emotional network for participant members and their families.
